Oi Va Voi
British klezmer and world music band Oi Va Voi performs at Melkweg, blending traditional Yiddish music with contemporary influences.
Oi Va Voi are a London-based collective weaving klezmer and Eastern European folk music together with indie, electronica and pop. Founded around the turn of the millennium, they built their name on energetic live shows before their debut album 'Laughter Through Tears' (2003/2004) won two BBC Radio 3 World Music Awards and a Dutch Edison Award, and was named one of the year's best albums by The New York Times. Guest vocalist KT Tunstall collaborated with the band before launching her solo career. Their most recent album, 'Memory Drop' (2018), introduced London singer Zohara Niddam as the group's new lead voice.

The album 'Memory Drop' was released in 2018 with singer Zohara Niddam and was positively received by, among others, The Guardian and Evening Standard.
