Nicko McBrain is the drummer of British heavy metal band Iron Maiden, a position he has held since 1982. Born in Hackney, East London, he worked as a session musician and played with bands including Streetwalkers, Pat Travers and the French band Trust before joining Maiden. Over a 42-year run he appeared on fourteen Iron Maiden studio albums and more than 1,900 shows worldwide, cementing his reputation as one of heavy metal's most influential drummers. He retired from touring in December 2024 but remains an official member of the band.
McBrain announced a spoken word tour through Europe and the UK to promote his autobiography Hello Boys and Girls!, which will be released on October 22, 2026 via HarperNonFiction.
The tour, titled An Evening With Nicko McBrain: In Conversation, begins on October 26 in Frankfurt and visits, among others, Tilburg (013) on November 3, 2026.
Iron Maiden was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2026.
McBrain performed in August and September 2026 with his Iron Maiden cover band Titanium Tart in Florida.
McBrain announced his retirement from touring on December 7, 2024; the concert that evening in São Paulo was his final performance with Iron Maiden.
