Nederlandse Reisopera

About

The Nederlandse Reisopera, based in Enschede and internationally known as Dutch Touring Opera, is the Netherlands' national touring opera company. Tracing its roots to Opera Forum, founded in 1955, it performs each season across theatres throughout the country, bringing opera well beyond Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Alongside standard repertoire it champions new works, cross-disciplinary co-productions and community participation projects. A landmark in its history was the 1988 European premiere of John Adams' Nixon in China.
