NANOEK is a Dutch theatre company founded in June 2020 by director Anouk Beugels, with a mission to push the boundaries of musical theatre through socially engaged, contemporary storytelling. Working from a distinctly Rotterdam-rooted ethos, the company connects emerging talent with experienced professionals. Productions such as LOKROEP (2022), MELK (2023) and The Last Five Years (2024) quickly established NANOEK as a leading voice in Dutch musical theatre - MELK alone won five Musical Awards in 2024. For the 2026-2027 season the company brings Broadway hit Next to Normal to stages across the Netherlands, with Willemijn Verkaik in the lead role.
NANOEK announced that Willemijn Verkaik plays the lead role in Next to Normal, to be seen from September through December 2026 throughout the Netherlands.

Timo Tembuyser won the award for Best Male Lead in a Small Musical at the Musical Awards Gala 2025 for his role in NANOEK's The Last Five Years.
