Moodymann is the stage name of Kenny Dixon Jr., a DJ and producer from Detroit, Michigan. His music fuses house, soul, funk and jazz through a distinctly analogue approach, and nearly all his output appears on his own Mahogani Music and KDJ Records labels. He is widely regarded as one of the most singular voices in Detroit house, and has also portrayed a fictionalised version of himself in Grand Theft Auto Online.
Moodymann performed at the Detroit Love event in FVTVR in Paris on May 9, 2026, alongside Carl Craig, Mike Banks and Juan Atkins.
Moodymann performed at the Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival in Florida in March 2026.
In December 2025, Moodymann performed in his hometown Detroit at the Lincoln Factory.
Moodymann appeared as a playable character 'KDJ' in the Los Santos Tuners update of Grand Theft Auto Online and released exclusive new music with it.
Moodymann debuted as a resident DJ in the in-game nightclub The Music Locker in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Cayo Perico Heist update.
