Mick Turner (Melbourne, 1960) is an Australian guitarist and visual artist, best known as co-founder and guitarist of the instrumental rock trio Dirty Three, formed in 1992 with Warren Ellis and Jim White. His spare, atmospheric guitar work is central to the band's sound, which earned wide acclaim with albums such as Horse Stories (1996) and Ocean Songs (1998). Beyond Dirty Three he records and performs with the dream-pop duo Mess Esque and the Melbourne supergroup Bleak Squad, and has released several solo albums on Drag City.
Bleak Squad, the supergroup with Turner, announces its first UK and European tour for November 2026, including performances at Le Guess Who? and Sonic City.
Turner tells in an interview that Mess Esque is working on a new album and that Dirty Three and Bleak Squad will perform in Europe in October/November 2026.
Bleak Squad releases the debut album Strange Love via Poison City Records; the album reaches the top of the AIR Albums Chart and makes the shortlist for the Australian Music Prize.
