American stand-up comedian Michelle Buteau performs her "Surviving and Thriving Tour" with humor and personal stories.
Michelle Buteau (born July 24, 1977, in New Jersey) is an American stand-up comedian, actress, writer, and television host of Haitian and Jamaican descent. She won the Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy Special with her Netflix debut 'Welcome to Buteaupia' (2020), then created and starred in the Netflix comedy-drama series 'Survival of the Thickest', based on her own memoir. In June 2024 she became the first woman to record a stand-up special at Radio City Music Hall, releasing 'A Buteau-ful Mind' on Netflix on December 31, 2024. She is married to Dutch photographer Gijs van der Most and they have two children together.
