McScallywag are a folk-punk band from Groningen who blend bluegrass, Balkan music and punk rock into a rowdy, high-energy sound. Armed with banjo, accordion, cello, mandolin and guitar, they are known for sets that hit harder live than on record. Their 2020 album 'Songs for the Wicked' landed at number 8 in the London Celtic Punks Top-10 Celtic-Punk Albums of the year, and the band has opened for international acts including The Rumjacks and The Real McKenzies.
