Maame Joses is a Dutch actress and singer-songwriter of Ghanaian and Nigerian heritage who has been performing internationally for over two decades. She grew up in England, Ghana and the Netherlands, rooting her music in soul, gospel, blues and folk. In 2010 she reached the semi-final of De Grote Prijs van Nederland, and in 2012 she competed on The Voice of Holland. Her theatre concert 'Zingt Nina Simone: Mijn Huid Is Zwart' weaves Simone's music and life story together with her own experiences as a Black singer.
