Lucas van de Meerendonk (Utrecht, 1985) is a Dutch journalist, television presenter and children's book author. After studying journalism at Hogeschool Utrecht, he worked as a reporter for Zapp Weekjournaal - winning the 2015 Youth News Exchange Award for a report on a Syrian refugee family on Lesbos - before joining NOS Jeugdjournaal as a presenter and reporter in 2017. Alongside his broadcasting career he has published two children's books with Moon: the comic horror verse collection *Pas op voor de billenbijter!* (2021) and the picture book *Storm in papa's hoofd* (2025), drawn from his personal experience with PTSD following a serious car accident in Italy in 2023.
Van de Meerendonk released his second children's book *Storm in papa's hoofd* with Moon (26 September 2025), a picture book about PTSD based on his own experiences after a car accident in Italy.
In 2023, Van de Meerendonk, his wife and one of his daughters were injured in a serious car accident in Italy; his wife Shody Careman suffered serious injuries.
