Kraak & Smaak is a production trio from Leiden - Oscar de Jong, Mark Kneppers and Wim Plug - fusing funk, soul, nu-disco and electronics into a sound that is unmistakably their own since 2003. Their debut album 'Boogie Angst' (2006) broke them internationally, earning an EBBA Award and slots at Coachella and SXSW. They launched their own Boogie Angst label in 2014 and have now released seven studio albums, the latest being 'Velvet Seas' in October 2025.
Kraak & Smaak released their seventh studio album 'Velvet Seas', recorded between Leiden and Los Angeles with contributions from, among others, Izo FitzRoy, IVAR and Berenice van Leer.
The band performed at Amsterdam Dance Event at Melkweg (22 October 2026) and also played in Sittard (Volt, 10 October) earlier that month.
Kraak & Smaak announced a series of Dutch and British shows for autumn 2026, with performances in Deventer, Leiden, Utrecht, Manchester and London.
After fifteen years of absence, the band returned to Paradiso in Amsterdam for a show in spring 2025.
The debut album 'Juicy Fruit' (2016) was reissued on vinyl on the occasion of the ten-year anniversary.
