About
Kovacs is the stage name of Dutch singer-songwriter Sharon Kovacs. Her deep, raw voice blends soul, jazz and noir-pop - drawing on Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Shirley Bassey - and first made waves with the 2013 EP 'My Love', followed by debut album 'Shades of Black' (2015), which charted in 36 countries and reached number one in the Netherlands. She has since performed at Glastonbury, Pinkpop and Lowlands, won an EBBA award and an Edison, and runs her own imprint, Wolf Recordings.
