About

Kneecap is an Irish rap collective from West Belfast who perform in Irish Gaelic and English. The trio - Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí - blend rave culture and drill beats with politically charged lyrics about drugs, working-class life and Irish reunification. Their 2024 self-titled film won a BAFTA and premiered at Sundance, cementing their international breakthrough. Their second album FENIAN, produced by Dan Carey, was released in May 2026 and debuted at number one in Ireland.

Kneecap announced a worldwide tour for October-December 2026, with shows in Latin America, Europe, the UK and Ireland in support of FENIAN.

The terrorism case against Mo Chara was dismissed on 26 September 2025 by a London court due to a procedural error in filing the charges.

Kneecap performed at the Glastonbury Festival on the West Holts Stage; the BBC did not broadcast the performance, but the tent filled to maximum capacity.

Mo Chara was charged by British authorities in May 2025 with a terrorism offence following footage from a London show in November 2024; more than one hundred artists signed an open letter in solidarity.
