Turpentine Valley + Ka'Una
Two Belgian metal bands: Turpentine Valley delivers dark post-metal with dynamic tension, while Ka'Una blends ambient and psychedelic elements into their sound.
Ka'Una is a Belgian post-metal band founded in 2021 by Hannes Leroy (ex-Thurisaz) and Mattias Theuwen, with Klaas Catry on bass and Stijn Decoene on drums, both from Scrape. Their sound weaves ambient, noise, psychedelic and progressive rock into dense, atmospheric layers that push well beyond conventional metal. Their debut album *Focus* came out in May 2024 on Belgian label Dunk!records, premiered live at Dunkfest in Ghent, and has since earned the band shows across Belgium, the Netherlands and beyond.
Ka'Una reports via social media that the recordings for their second album went well and announces they will share new material soon.
Ka'Una performed as support for Thurisaz during his farewell tour in Turkey, with shows in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir (6-11 November 2024).
The debut album *Focus* was released on 18 May 2024 via Dunk!records and was presented live at Dunkfest 2024 in the 404 concert hall in Ghent.
The first vinyl pressing of *Focus* ('Into Blue' edition, 100 copies) sold out quickly; a second pressing ('Icy Way' edition) followed.
