Jam El Mar is the stage name of Rolf Ellmer (born 3 December 1960 in Karlsruhe), a classically trained guitarist who became one of Germany's most influential producers in the techno and trance scene. As one half of Jam & Spoon - the duo he formed with Markus Löffel (Mark Spoon) - he scored international hits in the 1990s including "Right in the Night" and helped shape the European trance scene. He was also a member of Dance 2 Trance with DJ Dag, and has produced and remixed for artists such as Enigma, Moby and Deep Forest. As a solo artist, Ellmer continues to release music to this day on his own Jam El Mar REC label.
Jam El Mar released the single "Rise Above" in August 2025 in collaboration with SUDO, via Zoomer Records.
Jam El Mar appeared on the compilation "Sofa Sessions" (Beatport, December 2025), together with a large number of other electronic producers.
