Sunday Hardcore Matinee: Ignite + Cancer Bats
Hardcore matinee featuring American band Ignite and Canadian metalcore act Cancer Bats at Muziekgieterij.
Ignite is an American melodic hardcore band from Orange County, California, formed in 1993. They broke through with 'A Place Called Home' (2000) and built a global following through relentless touring across more than 40 countries, pairing anthemic hooks with politically charged lyrics. After longtime singer Zoltán Téglás departed in 2020, the band regrouped with new vocalist Eli Santana and released a self-titled album on Century Media in 2022. Bassist Brett Rasmussen is the sole remaining founding member.
Svart Records released a 25th anniversary reissue of 'A Place Called Home' on vinyl, with bonus tracks.
Ignite played two Dutch club shows in December 2025: on December 7 at Iduna (Drachten) and on December 9 at Muziekgieterij (Maastricht).
The band toured through Europe in the summer of 2025 and played at festivals including Ruhrpott Rodeo and Punk Rock Holiday.
In 2024 Ignite toured through Europe together with Slapshot, to commemorate thirty years since their first joint tour in 1994.
