IGNEA is a Ukrainian metal band from Kyiv, founded in 2013 under the name Parallax and rebranded in 2015. They blend melodic death metal, symphonic metal, and oriental folk influences into a cinematic sound, fronted by vocalist Helle Bohdanova. Signed to Napalm Records, they have performed at major festivals including Wacken Open Air and Bloodstock, building a dedicated international following. Their music draws deliberately on Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar traditions, giving it a distinct cultural weight.
IGNEA announced their third studio album Monumental, scheduled for October 23, 2026 via Napalm Records, produced by Grammy-nominated producer Jacob Hansen.
All song lyrics on Monumental were written by singer Helle Bohdanova; the music was composed by keyboardist Yevhenii Zhytniuk.
Monumental is the second IGNEA album written during the Russian invasion of Ukraine; the recordings took place largely in the winter of 2025-2026 in Kyiv, amid power outages and freezing cold.
IGNEA announced 29 new concert dates for a European tour in November and December 2026, with shows in Sweden, Norway, Germany and more.
IGNEA performed at Wacken Open Air 2024, one of the largest metal festivals in the world.
