Holland Baroque is a Dutch baroque orchestra founded in 2006 by sisters Judith and Tineke Steenbrink, who continue to lead the ensemble as its artistic duo. Based in Utrecht, the orchestra is known for cross-genre collaborations - from gospel and flamenco to Persian and Ottoman music - rooted in historically informed performance. Alongside its concert work, Holland Baroque conducts archival research that has brought forgotten 17th-century composers such as Benedictus à Sancto Josepho back into the repertoire. The ensemble has received the Edison Klassiek award (2017) and two REMA Awards for education (2022 and 2024).
Het Fonds Podiumkunsten (FPK) weigerde Holland Baroque opnieuw meerjarige subsidie voor 2025-2028, ondanks een eerdere rechterlijke uitspraak die de afwijzing onvoldoende onderbouwd noemde. Het ensemble sluit niet uit opnieuw naar de rechter te stappen.
Holland Baroque bracht samen met Ensemble Constantinople het album Dialogos uit op Pentatone, geïnspireerd op de ontmoeting tussen Franciscus van Assisi en sultan Malik al-Kamil in 1219.
De Rechtbank Midden-Nederland verklaarde op 30 januari het beroep van Holland Baroque tegen de FPK-subsidieafwijzing gegrond en oordeelde dat het advies van de adviescommissie 'niet op alle punten zorgvuldig, inzichtelijk en/of begrijpelijk' was.
Holland Baroque presenteerde het programma 'Het Wonder van Boxmeer' met herontdekte manuscripten van Benedictus à Sancto Josepho, gevonden in het Carmelitaans Instituut in Boxmeer, en speelde dit in Ravenstein, Boxmeer, Utrecht, Vries, Helvoirt en Münster.
Holland Baroque trad op met Ensemble Constantinople in TivoliVredenburg Utrecht als onderdeel van hun gezamenlijk project over de relatie tussen Oost en West.
