Het Goede Doel
Dutch pop legends Het Goede Doel reunite with their original line-up for a concert featuring their 1980s hits.
Henk Westbroek (born 27 February 1952 in Utrecht) is a Dutch singer, lyricist, radio presenter and former politician. As the frontman of Het Goede Doel he scored major hits in the 1980s with songs such as 'België (Is er leven op Pluto?)' and 'Vriendschap', making the band one of the most successful Dutch-language pop acts of the era. After the band split in 1991 he pursued a varied career as a solo artist, café owner and public commentator. Since 2025 he has been performing again with Het Goede Doel Revival, alongside former bandmates René Meister and Toni Peroni.
The Amsterdam court rejected Westbroek's claim to receive higher streaming royalties from record label Universal; he must also pay the legal costs of almost € 2,100.
After long hesitation, Westbroek joined Het Goede Doel Revival and has since performed about twice a month with former band members René Meister and Toni Peroni.
Westbroek openly told that he uses the weight loss drug Ozempic and lost 22 kilos in a year with it.
Het Goede Doel Revival performed at Paaspop in Schijndel, one of the first major festival performances of the revival band.
RTV Utrecht looked back on the comeback year of Het Goede Doel and spoke extensively with Westbroek, who has eight gold records hanging on the wall of his office.
