Green Day is an American punk rock band from Oakland, California, formed in 1987. Their 1994 album Dookie launched them to international fame, driven by singles like 'Basket Case' and 'When I Come Around'. The rock opera album American Idiot (2004) later cemented their place as one of the most influential acts in punk rock.
