Gilla Band
Irish post-punk band Gilla Band takes the stage at EKKO Utrecht.
Gilla Band are an Irish post-punk and noise rock quartet from Dublin, formed in 2011 under the name Girl Band and renamed in November 2021. The band - vocalist Dara Kiely, guitarist Alan Duggan Borges, bassist Daniel Fox and drummer Adam Faulkner - built their reputation on abrasive, experimental guitar music that blends noise rock, no-wave and techno-influenced rhythms. Their 2015 debut Holding Hands with Jamie earned widespread critical acclaim, and their fourth album Pugnello is due on Rough Trade Records in September 2026.
Gilla Band releases their fourth album Pugnello on September 25, 2026 via Rough Trade Records, with 'Alogia' as the second single.
The band announces Pugnello and shares the first single 'Placeholder'; the album was recorded in three Dublin studios and produced by the band themselves.
Gilla Band announces an extensive North American tour for fall 2026, followed by a European tour in January 2027 with stops in Amsterdam and Utrecht.
Gilla Band performs at Roadburn Festival 2025 in Tilburg, returning to their early noise-rock roots.
The band officially changes their name from Girl Band to Gilla Band, as the old name was considered 'misgendered'.
