Giles Corey
Giles Corey delivers an intimate acoustic concert full of vulnerability and haunting atmosphere at 013.
Giles Corey is the solo project of Connecticut musician Dan Barrett, one half of the post-punk duo Have a Nice Life. The 2011 self-titled debut - a stark, acoustic record built around depression, death, and the paranormal - grew steadily into a cult classic through online communities. Barrett named the project after Giles Corey, an English farmer pressed to death during the Salem witch trials, a figure he saw as embodying the immorality of execution. The album comes packaged with a 150-page book that expands its world through personal accounts and the fictional lore of cult leader Robert Voor.
Giles Corey's debut album will be re-released as a remaster on November 13, 2026 via The Flenser, with bonus track 'A Landless Earth' and a 150-page book.
The remaster was announced with the release of the single 'A Landless Earth (Remastered 2026)', released via The Flenser on August 19, 2026.
Barrett supports the remaster with a series of live shows along the American East Coast in November 2026, from Burlington to Atlanta.
