About

Georgia Anne Muldrow (Los Angeles, 1983) is an American singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist who grew up steeped in jazz - her father Ronald Muldrow played guitar with Eddie Harris, her mother Rickie Byars sang with the Pharoah Sanders Ensemble. She debuted on Stones Throw Records in 2006 and has since built a wide-ranging discography that weaves together neo-soul, hip-hop, jazz and electronics. Her 2018 album Overload (Brainfeeder) earned her a Grammy nomination; under the alias Jyoti - a name given to her by Alice Coltrane - she released the acclaimed Mama, You Can Bet! in 2020.
