Forugh Karimi (born 1971 in Kabul) is a writer, psychiatrist and psychotherapist based in the Netherlands. Her debut novel De moeders van Mahipar (2022) won the Hebban Debuutprijs, one of the Dutch prizes for best literary debut. Her medical background shapes her writing in a distinctive way.
