Ferocious Dog from the UK brings Celtic folk-punk with wide-ranging influences, supported by Groningen's McScallywag and their blend of bluegrass, Balkan music and punk rock.
Ferocious Dog are an English Celtic folk-punk band from Warsop, Nottinghamshire, formed as a full band around 2010-2011 by vocalist and guitarist Ken Bonsall. The six-piece weave fiddle, banjo and acoustic guitar into raw punk rock, driven by politically charged lyrics about social injustice, poverty and broken communities. Their 2021 album The Hope debuted at number one on the UK and Ireland Folk Album Charts; follow-up Kleptocracy (2024) reached number three. In 2015 they became the first unsigned act ever to sell out Rock City in Nottingham.
Ferocious Dog announced in April 2026 the definitive dates for their farewell tour in the United Kingdom, which runs from 1 October to 28 November 2026 and concludes with a show at Rock City, Nottingham.
In November 2026 the band plays four farewell concerts in the Netherlands: on 18 November at Vera (Groningen), 19 November at Fluor (Amersfoort), 20 November at Podium 't Beest (Goes) and 21 November at Fun 'N Folk in 013 (Tilburg).
The band confirmed that 2026 is the final year of Ferocious Dog and published a statement to their fanbase, the Hell Hounds.
On 17 May 2024 Ferocious Dog released their sixth studio album Kleptocracy via Graphite Records; the album reached third place in the official British folk album chart.
Kleptocracy also reached sixth place in the British independent charts and eleventh place in the physical album charts.
