Eve: Scorpion Tour
Eve celebrates 25 years of her album 'Scorpion' with a world tour. The American rapper and singer performs at Melkweg.
Eve is an American rapper and actress from West Philadelphia who broke through in the late 1990s as the first lady of the Ruff Ryders collective. Her 1999 debut album 'Let There Be Eve… Ruff Ryders' First Lady' entered the Billboard 200 at number one, making her only the third female rapper ever to achieve that. The Dr. Dre-produced single 'Let Me Blow Ya Mind' (2001) with Gwen Stefani won the inaugural Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Beyond music, she starred in her own sitcom 'Eve' (2003-2006) and co-hosted CBS's 'The Talk'.
Eve released her memoirs 'Who's That Girl?' written together with hip-hop journalist Kathy Iandoli, about her career in rap, film and television.
NPR paid attention to the book and described Eve as 'an icon in hip-hop, a west Philly rapper whose flow, style and production helped define the genre in the early 2000s'.
Nicki Minaj publicly praised Eve as a brave trendsetter for women in rap.
Billboard published an interview in which Eve mentioned female rappers such as Doechii, Cardi B and GloRilla as artists with lasting impact.
