Eva Eikhout: Life Is Short, Just Like Me!
Eva Eikhout presents an energetic theatre lecture packed with humour and self-deprecating wit.
Eva Eikhout (born 1996, Groesbeek) is a Dutch presenter, programme-maker and theatre performer who came to prominence through BNNVARA and NPO3 series such as 'Weet Wat Je Date' and 'Eva en de Eva's'. Born with Femur-Fibula-Ulna syndrome - a rare condition that left her with short arms and legs - she turns her own life into sharp, self-deprecating comedy and broader reflections on resilience and self-direction. Her debut book appeared in 2024; late 2025 saw her step onto the theatre stage with the one-woman show 'Het leven is kort, net als ik!', directed by Menno Stam.
In early 2026, Eikhout was seen as a panelist in the RTL 4 program 'Ranking the Stars', where she spoke openly about her experiences with the healthcare system.
The theater tour 'Life is Short, Just Like Me!' goes into reprise in the 2025-2026 season with 13 additional performances throughout the Netherlands, from Groningen to Maastricht.
The first theater tour started at the end of 2025 at multiple Dutch theaters, including DeLaMar Amsterdam, Stadsschouwburg Haarlem and the Leidse Schouwburg.
In May 2024, Eikhout's debut book 'This is Not a Book by a Girl Without Arms and Legs' was published by Lebowski Publishers.
