Esoteric is an English funeral doom metal band from Birmingham, founded in 1992. Across seven studio albums - almost all double albums exceeding ninety minutes - they have built a reputation as one of the originators of the funeral doom style. Records such as 'The Maniacal Vale' (2008) and 'A Pyrrhic Existence' (2019) pair crushing riffs with psychedelic layering and Greg Chandler's harrowing vocals.
Esoteric played as support for Blood Incantation on two dates of their 'Absolute Else' Europe tour: on October 14 in Istanbul and on October 16 in Athens.
Esoteric performed on March 16, 2025 in Birmingham, together with Goblinsmoker, Warcrab, Pantheist and other bands.
Esoteric took the stage in June 2024 in London as part of an evening with Skepticism and Ahab, for a nearly sold-out venue.
Esoteric announced their first North American tour in more than ten years, with performances in cities such as Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto and New York.
