Erik Bosgraaf (born 1980 in Drachten) is a Dutch recorder player and musicologist widely regarded as one of the most virtuosic and adventurous performers on his instrument. His international breakthrough came in 2006 with a three-disc recording of Jacob van Eyck's Der Fluyten Lust-hof, which sold over 25,000 copies. He collaborates with major orchestras worldwide, composes his own works, and since 2024 has served as Artistic Director of the London International Festival of Early Music. In 2011 he became the first recorder player ever to receive the Dutch Music Prize.
De Volkskrant reported in February 2026 that Bosgraaf is increasingly establishing himself as a composer: on 1 March 2026 one of his own compositions was heard in the Kölner Philharmonie.
On 1 March 2026 Bosgraaf performed at the Kölner Philharmonie with Concerto Köln in the programme 'Bridges', with music by Vivaldi, Händel, Telemann and his own compositions.
In August 2026 Bosgraaf performed at the TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, his most recent performance in the Netherlands.
In May 2025 the album Telemann: Chamber Music with Recorder was released by Brilliant Classics, recorded with Ensemble Cordevento - his sixth Telemann album for that label.
In June 2024 it was announced that Bosgraaf becomes permanent guest conductor of the Latvian baroque ensemble Collegium Musicum Riga.
