Engel is the stage name of Steven Engel (Hoorn, 1982), a Dutch rapper and lyricist with more than ten albums to his name. He grew up in Hoorn, lives in Amsterdam, and was appointed the city's poet laureate in 2010. A committed DIY artist who runs his own Engelland label, he has collaborated over the years with Paul de Munnik, Diggy Dex, Sticks, Typhoon, Def P, Extince, and American rapper Masta Ace.
Engel released three new tracks from label mate Just, including the music video for 'Het Mooiste' ft. Diggy Dex.
Engel announced the Water Onder De Brug Tour: twelve performances throughout the Netherlands as support for Just.
Engel presented his EP 'Liedjes op Vinyl' live on 28 November at Huis Verloren in Hoorn.
The single 'Precies te laat' from the EP 'Liedjes op Vinyl' was voted Top Favorite by regional broadcaster WEEFF.
Engel released his album 'Liedjes in Mineur' on 7 February 2025 and subsequently toured the Netherlands.
