Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor (1919) is one of the most cherished works in the cello repertoire. Deeply elegiac in tone, it was largely overlooked during Elgar's lifetime but gained lasting fame through Jacqueline du Pré's celebrated 1965 recording.
