About

Elegy are a power and progressive metal band from Eindhoven, Netherlands, founded in 1986 by guitarist Henk van der Laars. Widely regarded as pioneers of the 'progressive power metal' subgenre, they released seven albums and an EP between 1992 and 2002 - including Labyrinth of Dreams, State of Mind and Forbidden Fruit - before going dormant. In 2023 the band announced a reunion with what is considered their strongest-ever line-up, featuring vocalist Ian Parry, bassist Martin Helmantel and drummer Dirk Bruinenberg.
