
Nederlands Blazers Ensemble & Duda Paiva
The Nederlands Blazers Ensemble and Duda Paiva Company present 'Breath of the Forest', a theatrical concert inspired by the Kamayurá people of the Amazon.
Duda Paiva Company is a Dutch theatre company based in Amersfoort, founded by Brazilian-Dutch performer and puppet-maker Duda Paiva (Brazil, 1971). Paiva developed the Object Score technique - a physical, non-verbal dialogue between performers and handcrafted foam-rubber puppets that fuses dance with visual theatre. The company tours theatres, festivals and schools across the Netherlands and internationally on five continents, with regular collaborators including the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, Holland Opera and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
Duda Paiva Company and Holland Opera bring the new children's opera Bremer Street Musicians (6+) - with music by Lucas Wiegerink and libretto by Simon van der Geest - on tour through the Netherlands from December 2025 to early April 2026.
The youth production Little Red Riding Hood in Amazonia (6+), directed by Duda Paiva and Cat Smits, received a review in Theaterkrant after its premiere on 24 February 2025.
The co-production Avatāra, created together with Illusionary Rockaz Company, won the Swan for the most impressive dance production during the Dutch Dance Days 2023.
