Dry Cleaning
British post-punk band Dry Cleaning brings their experimental sound and spoken-word style to Utrecht.
Dry Cleaning are a post-punk band from South London, active since 2017, made up of vocalist Florence Shaw, guitarist Tom Dowse, bassist Lewis Maynard and drummer Nick Buxton. Shaw's deadpan spoken-word delivery - absurdist, dry, rooted in everyday observation - sets them apart from most of their contemporaries. Their debut 'New Long Leg' (2021) reached number four on the UK Albums Chart and earned widespread critical acclaim; 'Stumpwork' (2022) won a Grammy for Best Recording Package. Their third album, 'Secret Love', produced by Cate Le Bon, came out in January 2026.
An outtake from the 'Secret Love' sessions, 'Sliced by a Fingernail', was released in March 2026 as a standalone single.
The third studio album 'Secret Love', produced by Cate Le Bon, was released on 9 January 2026 via 4AD.
The band announced an extensive world tour for early 2026, with European dates in April - including Amsterdam (Melkweg) on 11 April.
The first single from 'Secret Love', 'Hit My Head All Day', was released on 29 September 2025.
The artwork of 'Stumpwork' won the Grammy for Best Recording Package at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards on 4 February 2024.
