About

dIRE sTRATS is a German tribute band that has been performing the music of Dire Straits since 2004. Founder and frontman Wolfgang Uhlich is widely regarded by knowledgeable fans as the most convincing interpreter of Mark Knopfler's guitar style. The six-piece band plays entirely live - no backing tracks - and has clocked over 1,000 concerts, winning first place among 100 bands at the national tribute contest in Koblenz.
