Dave Hause (Philadelphia, 1978) is a singer-songwriter who came up through the Philadelphia hardcore and punk scene, playing in bands including Paint It Black and The Loved Ones before launching a solo career in 2011. His music sits at the crossroads of heartland rock, folk rock and punk - drawing comparisons to The Gaslight Anthem and Tom Petty - with lyrics grounded in working-class American life. He now fronts Dave Hause and The Mermaid, the full band with which he released his seventh studio album in 2025.
Dave Hause and The Mermaid started the 'Cellmates' tour with a North American run from Baltimore to Ottawa.
Hause performed in April 2026 as support for Frank Turner on the Campfire Punkrock Tour, including in Manchester.
The live album 'Live From Chicago 2026' was released on March 6, 2026 via Bandcamp, recorded on February 27 in Chicago.
The seventh studio album '…and The Mermaid' was released on the independent label Blood Harmony, recorded in Vancouver with producer Jesse Gander.
The band moved to Vancouver in January 2025 to record the album - for the first time outside the US.
