Cosmic Gate is a German trance project founded in 1999 by Claus Terhoeven (Nic Chagall) and Stefan Bossems (Bossi) after a chance meeting in a Cologne studio. Classics like 'Exploration of Space', 'Fire Wire' and 'Be Your Sound', a 2019 Grammy nomination, and more than thirteen studio albums cemented their place among Europe's most enduring electronic acts. In February 2026 Bossi announced he was stepping away from touring and leaving the project; Nic Chagall continues under the Cosmic Gate name.
