Café DeLaMar with Cornald Maas
A cultural talk show hosted by Cornald Maas and Soy Kroon, featuring intimate conversations about art and culture.
Cornald Maas (born 1962 in Bergen op Zoom) is a Dutch television presenter and writer who has long been a familiar face in Dutch cultural broadcasting. After studying Dutch language at Leiden University, he started out as a television editor before moving in front of the camera, and he has provided the Dutch commentary for the Eurovision Song Contest since 2004. He also hosts the long-running talk show Volle Zalen, in which he talks to well-known performers about their lives and careers, and in 2018 he received the ACT Award for his contribution to theatre on television.
Cornald Maas started a new monthly cultural talk show, Café DeLaMar with Cornald Maas, with Soy Kroon as the first main guest.
Maas will not provide Eurovision commentary in 2026 because AVROTROS is boycotting the event due to Israeli participation.
Maas indicated that, if it were up to him, he would return as Eurovision commentator in a future edition.
Henry Schut and Jeroen Kijk in de Vegte took over the commentary duties from Maas for the 2026 edition in Vienna.
Maas published the book Dreams of Full Halls, featuring fifty portraits of icons from the performing arts, and presented it in Café DeLaMar.
