Cirque du Soleil is a Canadian entertainment company founded in 1984 in Québec by street performers Guy Laliberté and Gilles Ste-Croix. Its productions blend acrobatics, dance and theatre into large-scale spectacles with no traditional circus animals. With more than 54 original shows - from the classic Alegría to permanent Las Vegas residencies - the company has reached over 400 million spectators across 86 countries. It employs more than 4,000 people, including around 1,200 artists from over 80 nationalities.
