Goede Rede Klassiek: Chimaera Trio (clarinet, cello, piano)
The Chimaera Trio performs a French programme of Franck and Fauré from around 1900, with light and shadow interweaving throughout.
The Chimaera Trio is a Dutch chamber music ensemble founded in 2012, comprising clarinettist Annemiek de Bruin, cellist Irene Kok and pianist Laurens de Man. Their unusual combination of wind, string and keyboard instrument produces a distinctive tonal palette that sets them apart from the standard piano trio. Early on, the ensemble won prizes at the Tristan Keuris and Storioni competitions and has since performed at venues including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Pianist Laurens de Man received the Nederlandse Muziekprijs in 2024, the highest honour for a classical musician in the Netherlands.
Het Chimaera Trio performed on 8 December 2025 at Kamermuziek Nijmegen in Concertgebouw De Vereeniging, as the third concert in that season's concert series.
Het Chimaera Trio was a guest on 21 November 2024 in the NPO Klassiek programme De Klassieken for the presentation of their second album on label MDG, 'Mendelssohn, Hartmann & Gade: Clarinet Trios'.
Pianist Laurens de Man received the Dutch Music Prize in 2024, the highest Dutch distinction for a classical musician.
Clarinetist Annemiek de Bruin joined the clarinet section of the Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra in 2023 and is also a member of the Dutch Wind Ensemble.
The debut album 'Fin de Siècle' on the German label MDG, with music by Mahler, Zemlinsky, Berg and Webern, was warmly received by the international press - including five stars from Fono Forum Musik.
