Chemicide is a thrash metal band from San José, Costa Rica, founded in 2008 (previously active as Conqueror). Led by guitarist and vocalist Frankie Chemicide, the band has built a solid reputation in the international underground scene across five albums and an EP released through labels in Canada, Europe and the US. Their fourth record Common Sense (2022) made Metal Hammer UK's top 10 thrash albums of the year alongside Megadeth and Kreator. Now signed to French label Listenable Records, they released their fifth album Violence Prevails in February 2025.
Chemicide released their fifth studio album Violence Prevails on February 28, 2025 via Listenable Records, in multiple limited formats including colored vinyl and cassette.
Violence Prevails was compared by reviewers to the early work of Kreator and Demolition Hammer, and received praise in the international metal press.
Chemicide announced Violence Prevails with an official music video for the title track, which features social criticism on violence as a problem-solving method as its theme.
The album Common Sense (2022) landed in the top 10 of the best thrash albums of that year in Metal Hammer UK, alongside releases by Megadeth, Kreator and Destruction.
Chemicide is scheduled to perform at Musicon in The Hague on November 10, 2025.
