Chef'Special is a five-piece pop band from Haarlem, formed in 2008, blending rock, reggae and hip-hop into a sound that is distinctly their own. The lineup - Joshua Nolet (vocals), Guido Joseph (guitar), Jan Derks (bass), Wouter Heeren (keys) and Wouter Prudon (drums) - broke through with 'Passing Through' (2014) and has since racked up multiple Dutch Top 40 hits. In 2016 they toured the US as support for Twenty One Pilots, and in 2024 they released their fifth studio album 'New Gold'.
Guitarist Guido Joseph announced that after almost twenty years he would leave the band; the farewell concerts at AFAS Live on April 16 and 17, 2027 were sold out within minutes, after which an extra show was added.
The singles 'If Not Now Then When' and 'Love Of My Life' were released and achieved more than 2 million streams on Spotify together.
The single 'C'est la Vie' was released and became the sixth Alarmschijf for the band on Qmusic.
The fifth studio album 'New Gold' was released, followed by the collaboration with Armin van Buuren on 'Larger Than Life', the Dutch theme song for the 2024 European Football Championship.
