Cello Concerto

About

Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor (1919) is one of the most cherished works in the cello repertoire. Introspective and melancholic in tone, it marked the close of Elgar's major creative period. After a disappointing premiere it gradually became a classic, helped in no small part by Jacqueline du Pré's celebrated recording.
