Cedric Myton is the distinctive falsetto voice behind the Jamaican roots reggae group The Congos. He rose to international prominence with Heart of the Congos (1977), produced by Lee "Scratch" Perry at the Black Ark Studios - widely regarded as one of the great classics of the genre. Born in 1947 in Old Harbour, Jamaica, Myton had already cut his teeth in rocksteady groups like The Tartans before forming The Congos with "Ashanti" Roy Johnson. Now in his late seventies, he continues to record and tour.
