Buntspecht is a six-piece indie band from Vienna, founded in 2016. Their sound blends indie pop with Wienerlied, gypsy jazz, funk, bossa nova, folk and klezmer - a wilfully eclectic mix they first recorded in a garden shed in 2018. They have since become one of Austria's most distinctive indie acts, earning a nomination for the Amadeus Award, the country's main music prize.
