braem
Bram Stadhouders performs as braem, bringing intimate classical guitar music recorded in forest silence, exploring themes of attention and stillness.
Bram Stadhouders (Tilburg, 1987) is a guitarist, composer and improviser working at the intersection of ambient jazz, contemporary composition and electronics. Over more than two decades he built an international career spanning sixty-plus countries, with collaborations including the Netherlands Chamber Choir, Nils Petter Molvaer and Arve Henriksen, and multiple releases on Challenge Records. At 26 he became the youngest composer ever to receive the North Sea Jazz Composition Commission. His solo project braem marks a deliberate return to the classical guitar of his childhood - slow, spacious music recorded in the quiet of the forest.
Stadhouders released the live album Aemona in September 2025, a collaboration with Norwegian trumpeter Arve Henriksen, released on the Sound of Niche label in a limited vinyl edition of 300 copies.
Stadhouders performed in November 2025 at PaRaDoX in Tilburg with his new guitar trio, together with drummer Onno Govaert and bassist Nathan Wouters.
A braem concert has been announced at Willem Twee in Den Bosch on 2 April 2027.
