Bohemian Betyars are a Budapest-based folk-punk band founded in 2009. The six-piece - violin, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, drums and trumpet - blends Hungarian folk, Balkan rhythms, ska and punk into what they call 'speed-folk-freak-punk'. Their raw, celebratory live shows have taken them across Europe and beyond, culminating in a slot at Japan's Fuji Rock Festival in 2026.

The band released the new album 'Akárkifia' - their most personal record to date, without guest musicians.
On 4 June 2026 the band presented 'Akárkifia' live at Budapest Park.
The live album 'Bohemian Betyars 15 (Live at Budapest Park 2024)' was released on 7 February 2025, on the occasion of the band's 15th anniversary.
Bohemian Betyars played again at the Melkweg in Amsterdam in May 2024, for the first time in seven years.
