Bill Nighy (born 12 December 1949 in Caterham, Surrey) is a British actor who began his career on stage at the Everyman Theatre, Liverpool, before rising to prominence at the Royal National Theatre in London. He became internationally known for playing washed-up pop star Billy Mack in Love Actually (2003), a role that earned him a BAFTA, and for voicing the tentacled Davy Jones in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. His most acclaimed film performance to date is as the ailing civil servant Mr. Williams in Living (2022), which brought him his first Oscar nomination at the age of 73.
