Bill Callahan (born 1966 in Silver Spring, Maryland) is an American singer-songwriter who spent years recording under the name Smog before establishing himself as one of alternative folk's most distinctive voices. His deep baritone and spare, literary lyrics define albums like Apocalypse (2011) and Dream River (2013), widely regarded as landmarks of the genre. He has been signed to the independent label Drag City throughout his career and released his latest studio album, My Days of 58, in February 2026.
