Benjamin Millepied presents an intimate, poetic dance performance celebrating the artistry of French singer Barbara.
Benjamin Millepied (Bordeaux, 1977) is a French choreographer, dancer and filmmaker. He danced with the New York City Ballet from 1995 to 2011, rising to principal, then founded L.A. Dance Project in 2012 and served as director of dance at the Paris Opéra Ballet from 2014 to 2016. He is widely known for choreographing the film Black Swan and, more recently, for co-founding Paris Dance Project, which stages free dance events in public spaces.
Millepied presented La Ville Dansée 2025, a free outdoor dance project set to music by Philip Glass, at multiple public locations in Paris and surrounding areas (June 5-8, 2025).
The L.A. Dance Project performed on June 13 and 14, 2025 at The Wallis in Beverly Hills with an evening-length program of contemporary dance, including Millepied's new work Triade.
Millepied created Rituel, a new choreography set to music by Pierre Boulez, which premiered with the L.A. Dance Project and the Orchestre de Paris at the Philharmonie de Paris (March 26-27, 2025).
Millepied premiered his music theater production GRACE, Jeff Buckley Dances at La Seine Musicale in Paris (November 5-8, 2024).
The marriage of Millepied and actress Natalie Portman, which took place in 2012, was officially dissolved in 2024.
